銅是在電線中充當電導體[3][4]發電輸電配電電信電爐電子電路和無數類型的電氣設備中都要用到銅線[5]。建築物中的電線對銅工業來說是最重要的市場。[6]大約一半被開採的銅用於製造電線。[5]
