宣扬爪虫科
恐虾纲的一科动物
宣扬爪虫科(学名:Kerygmachelidae)是节肢动物门、恐虾纲底下的其中一个科。目前该科包括三个属:来自格陵兰岛早寒武世的宣扬爪虫、[1]来自犹他州中寒武世的犹他王虫[2]和来自内华达州中下寒武世蝠鲼虫。[3]这些动物的特征是发达的前附肢,与其他恐虾类(如放射齿目)类似,只不过这些属中存在的前附肢在同一水平面上,并且它们较细。宣扬爪虫类很可能是游动捕食者,利用它们较大的游动叶(flap)在海洋中的上层游泳,并利用它们的前附肢捕捉小型猎物。 [4]

外观
编辑根据蝠鲼虫在化石中保留的身体长度和宣扬爪虫身体与其余部分的比率,推算出蝠鲼虫全长在30至50厘米,大于宣扬爪虫的20厘米。[3]
头部
编辑仅有宣扬爪虫的化石保存发现头部,其余有仅有发现身体的部位。头部有一对细长前附肢,与放射齿目的前附肢不同的是,钱复之内的突起是向内,而非向下,且前附肢内侧有、细长的刺。[1][5][6][7]
